CHARLOTTE--Members of the North Carolina NAACP gathered outside an east Charlotte church Sunday for the 'Get out the Vote' campaign.
State President William Barber met with Charlotte Chapter President Kojo Nantambu at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church to launch a campaign to register thousands of new voters across the state.
Barber said volunteers contributed to record voter participation in the African American community for the 2008 presidential election.
He said similar efforts are necessary leading up to November.
