We are into the final day of preliminary events in the 75th Miss North Carolina Pageant in Raleigh.
That means more ball gowns, swimsuits, and talent competitions on the Miss N.C. stage.
Miss Tarheel, Jessie Smith, and Miss Kinston-Lenoir, Arlie Honeycutt, brought home the trophies for the Fitness and Talent events last night.
They said they were happy to win, but they are not putting too much value in a preliminary event.
“It all comes down to interview for me,” said Smith. “It is a positive thing to be a preliminary winner. It gave me scholarship money that I didn't have, but Saturday night's going to come from our Thursday day interviews.”
“You never know what's going to happen, and you never know who it is going to be on Saturday night,” said Honeycutt. “So, all you can do is give it your all all week long, and just hope that it turns out the way you're hoping.”
Miss Queen City, Mya Kayler, and Miss Durham, Brieanna Hester, won Monday night's preliminaries.
Interviews will be on Thursday, and the new Miss North Carolina will be crowned on Saturday.
Be sure to tune in Saturday at 8 p.m. to watch the Miss North Carolina Pageant live, on Time Warner Cable channel 520. The event will also be live-streamed at www.news14.com.
