GREENSBORO – North Carolina Democratic leaders responded to the GOP Convention on Saturday by holding their own event outside the Koury Convention Center.

State Sen. Don Vaughan and state Rep. Pricey Harrison highlighted what they call the failed economic policies of Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty. The Democrats believe Romney and Pawlenty want to take us back to the same failed policies of the past.

“Gov. Pawlenty is in there talking about his similar track record as governor and both of them have a failed record of increased spending and higher unemployment in both states,” Harrison, a Guilford County Democrat, said.

Vaughan and Harrison say that Pawlenty and Romney support "the same back-to-the-future economic scheme."
