Boy treated for life-threatening injuries after nearly drowning

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – A 7-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he nearly drowned Saturday afternoon in Huntersville.
The incident happened around 4:15 p.m. on April Mist Drive. Fire officials said the boy was underwater for about two minutes before he was rescued by a lifeguard.
The lifeguard performed CPR and the boy was conscious by the time crews arrived.
He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main for treatment.
