WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney swept five GOP primaries Tuesday night. He won Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New York. The states were the first to hold primaries since Rick Santorum suspended his campaign.

Romney is still nearly 400 delegates short of the number he needs to formally gain his party's presidential nomination this summer at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.
