WILMINGTON – UNC Wilmington campers are combining fun with learning.

Sixty middle school students took part in a hands-on demo Monday. The group is part of the Junior Seahawk Academy at UNC Wilmington.

"Time Warner Cable, they came and were talking to us about fiber optics,” participant Christine McDow said. “We learned a lot. We even got to see them take two of the fiber-optic cables, which are about the size of your hair, and put them together."

The demo is part of Time Warner Cable's Connect a Million Minds program.
