Mooresville murder suspect faces new charges

MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- The Iredell County woman accused of shooting her police officer husband may soon also face embezzlement charges.
Police say Misty Witherspoon shot her husband, Quinn, in the head with his service revolver last September. She is currently out of jail on a $500,000 bond and is awaiting a trial.
A grand jury met Tuesday to hear evidence related to missing money from an area church and officials say evidence points to Witherspoon.
Authorities expect to indict her on nearly 60 counts of embezzlement.
