WASHINGTON -- House Speaker John Boehner was in his home state of Ohio on Saturday where he spoke at a community college in Piqua.
Boehner said the so-called sequestration is not the smartest way to cut spending and said there is a better way to deal with government spending.
"...As i told the president once again yesterday, we all know what the problem is. We've got runaway spending on the mandatory spending side that has to be dealt with," said Rep. Boehner.
Now, Congress and the White House have to work together to avoid a partial government shut down later this month and Boehner has said the House will act on that next week.
