CONCORD -- Sex trafficking victims and survivors were the focus of a fundraiser at Charlotte Motor Speedway Friday night.

Compassion First held their first "From Numbers To Names" event. The group tries to raise awareness about the sex trade in Indonesia.

Organizers said in the past year they've worked with law enforcement to help with training and investigation practices. They said it's a cause that deserves our attention.

"It's critically important for us because, one, of calling, and simply the value of every human life. We're responding to a call in that sense," said Mike Mercer, president of Compassion First.

Compassion First has an aftercare center in Indonesia that gives victims a safe place to say, health care, education and spiritual care.
