ROWLAND, N.C. – A parade celebrating Super Bowl champion Vonta Leach in his North Carolina hometown will go on Sunday, a day after it was originally scheduled.

The town of Rowland, with a population of a little more than 1,000 people, will be filled with bands, floats, cheerleaders and all the rest to honor the Baltimore Ravens fullback. The UNC Pembroke football team is also expected to make an appearance to support the hometown hero.

The money raised at the parade will go to the Vonta Leach Foundation, which gives funds to schools throughout the year.

Leach is a graduate of East Carolina University and South Robeson High School, where he still holds a free football camp.

The event starts at 3 p.m. in the heart of downtown on Main Street.
