DURHAM -- One of the men convicted of killing former UNC Student Body President Eve Carson will be in court Friday on charges connected to another murder in Durham.
Laurence Lovette is accused of killing Abhijit Mahato in 2008, when he was 17. A trial date hasn't been set.
Earlier this month, the state Court of Appeals ruled that Lovette must be resentenced in the Carson case because a judge didn't consider mitigating factors before sentencing him to life in prison. There's no word yet on when that will occur.
Demario Atwater was also sentenced to life in prison for killing Carson.
