PORTSMOUTH, Va. - The Coast Guard has set a schedule for hearings in February on the sinking of the HMS Bounty.
Starting February 12 in Virginia, the Coast Guard will take testimony from the HMS Bounty Company, Coast Guard, bounty crewmembers and others.
The replica of the 18th century ship sank off the Carolina coast during Hurricane Sandy in October.
Two people died, including the ship's captain, 63-year-old Robin Albridge.
The Coast Guard hopes to determine why the ship set sail during the storm and develop recommendations to improve safety.
