JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C.--Smaller versions of Walmart supercenters will be popping up in more rural areas of North Carolina.

Construction is underway for a Walmart Express in Four Oaks in Johnston County.

The company has plans to build 10 more in the state within the next year to give access to those who might otherwise have to travel.

"This has been received very well in communities that may not have access to other walmarts and therefore appreciate a new opportunity to shop Walmart and find affordable food and other merchandise,” said Walmart spokesperson Bill Wertz.

There are currently eight of the express stores in North Carolina.
