CHARLOTTE – WWE superstar John Cena is fighting a new opponent – breast cancer.
Cena, who is in town for WWE's Monday Night Raw show at Time Warner Cable Arena, has been wearing pink throughout October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month – to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Cancer is a personal matter for Cena, his brother is currently battling the disease, and he wanted to do something to raise awareness.
"National Breast Cancer Awareness month is really the most familiarized situation, that if you're not aware of this disease or what it can do, if it's affected you, you can't turn on anything and not see pink. So, I wanted us as a company to be involved. I think it's a great first step. I think the campaign has been wonderful, so hopefully it is a continued partnership with us and Susan G. Komen for the Cure for years to come," Cena said.
Cena says all the proceeds from his merchandise go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
