CHARLOTTE -- The Charlotte Zoning Committee is recommending that a Walgreens pharmacy and office building be developed in the Dilworth neighborhood. The recommendation was made Wednesday night.

Opponents believe the proposed store at the corner of Kenilworth Avenue and Morehead Street won't match the character of the neighborhood. They're also opposed to the fact that it would require the demolition of several historic buildings.

Charlotte City Council is scheduled to vote on the project on Nov. 12.
