CHARLOTTE-- -- CMPD Crime Stoppers is having another record breaking year. Officials recently made their 200th arrest and more people are calling in with tips. Officers site more community engagement and community trust for the rise in numbers.

"We are at 200 arrests this year so far, but right now we've had over 1,600 calls to the tip line in the first quarter of the year," said Officer Marty Cuthbertson.

People who call the Crime Stoppers number are routed to a call center in Canada. Their identity is never revealed and they could earn up to $1,000 dollars for information leading to an arrest. Police said making the call could save someone else from becoming a target.

If you have information that could help police solve a crime in your area, call (704) 334-1600.
