CHARLOTTE – Florida Sen. Marco Rubio will be in Charlotte on Wednesday to raise money for Republican Robert Pittenger, a Republican looking to win North Carolina's 9th District House seat.

The seat is currently occupied by longtime Rep. Sue Myrick, also a Republican, who decided not to run.

Rubio will headline a fundraiser at the Charlotte City Club after stumping for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Rubio will speak about Romney's plan to boost the middle class at a victory rally at Steel Fab on Old Dowd Road.
