CHARLOTTE – The candidates in the North Carolina's 9th Congressional District will debate for the first time Wednesday afternoon.

Republican Robert Pittenger and Democrat Jennifer Roberts will square off at 3 p.m. at the Belk Action Center in uptown Charlotte.

The seat is now occupied by Republican Rep. Sue Myrick, a longtime congresswoman who decided not to run for re election.

The debate is sponsored by the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.
