CHARLOTTE -- One of Charlotte's largest festivals is now underway. The Yiasou Greek Festival opened Thursday morning at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on East Boulevard.

The annual event features Greek music, dancing and food.

"There's great pastries here from baklava to loukemades to baklava ice cream," said George Karres, the festival's organizer. "There are just so many great treats here and a lot of family fun. So we try to gear it towards the community so everybody can come in, relax and finish out their summer before we really get going into the school year and really have a great time."

The festival runs through Sunday.
