A multi-state outbreak has health officials warning of salmonella infections linked to turtles.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 160 people in 30 states have gotten sick.

More than 60 percent of the cases were under the age of 10.

Officials are warning people to not buy small turtles from street vendors, websites or pet stores.

They said it is important to always wash your hands after handling the reptiles.
