CHARLOTTE – One of the subgroups of the March on Wall Street South is from Action N.C., a group asking for foreclosure relief.
A few dozen people were present Sunday and some of them spoke, telling their stories of pending evictions from their homes.
Silvia Sanchez told the crowd how she bought her home in 2000 and how mounting medical bills made it impossible to pay her mortgage.
"They told us if we don't pay $20,000 by Sept. 14, they will initiate foreclosure," she said through an interpreter.
The group is demanding big banks agree to a universal principal reduction plan.
