GREENSBORO, N.C--It was "Extreme Makeover: Classroom Edition" for one North Carolina teacher this weekend!

Amy Payne was one of five grand prize winners nationwide of a $10,000 classroom makeover from Honeywell International.

The prize included a mural, cozy reading stations, and an interactive Smartboard.

This was welcome upgrades for a teacher who spends money out of her own pocket to make her classroom great.

"The school is really good about trying to get as many of the supplies as we need, but as they year goes on the money gets low, and teachers have to step in,” Payne said. “I easily spend $300-$400."
