CHARLOTTE--Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating an early morning accident that left one man dead and another injured on Sunday.

Police got the call at about 3:15 a.m.

They said the two men in the car had just left a party and were leading another driver to the interstate, when they crashed in the 6600 block of Old Mount Holly Road.

The car ran off the right side of the road and rolled over, killing the driver, identified as 25-year-old Elvin Cornejo Ortez.

The passenger was treated at the hospital, but is expected to be okay.
The victims names have not been released.

Police said speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
