CHAPEL HILL — The Chapel Hill Town Council has decided to appeal a judge's ruling that struck down a towing ordinance.

Earlier in August, Superior Court Judge Orlando Hudson ruled that the ordinance was unconstitutional because local governments do not have the authority to regulate trade. The ordinance regulated how much a towing company could charge someone if their car was towed.

News 14 Carolina's Andy Mattison was at Wednesday night's special meeting and has reaction to the appeal from both sides.
