WILSON — There is new hope for a financially-struggling Wilson community.

Several new businesses are breathing life into a hurting area of Wilson. Chipper's Backyard Grill express is one of four setting up shop along Route 301. The section of the city died down over the years.

However residents say it is in the process of being revitalized.

"This is a prime location. Highway 301 is a thriving area it's growing and it's coming back to what it use to be and hopefully even better," said Wyl Dickens with Chippers Backyard Grill Express.

There are still some concerns over more internet cafes opening up along the corridor. Several area businesses plan to get together to brainstorm ways to keep it a family-friendly strip.
