CHARLOTTE--The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is looking for a man who cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet, after being released from jail in April.

Keith Allen Murray was last seen near North Tryon Street and Tom Hunter Road in northeast Charlotte.

That's where police said he cut his monitor off, an electronic bracelet that's placed around his ankle.

Murray is described as a 51-year-old man who's about 5'11 and 190 pounds.

He's wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, or VCAT for outstanding warrants.

He's wanted for two counts of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

According to the CMPD website, there are currently 268 offenders on electronic monitoring devices and Murray is the 22nd to cut his off so far this year.

In 2011, a total of 17 people cut off their monitors.

Officials said getting information about these individuals, out quickly helps them notify the public of the risk, and locate the individuals faster.

If you have seen Keith Murray or have any information about his whereabouts, you're asked to call 911.
