CHARLOTTE—Thousands of Carolina Panthers fans jammed Bank of America Stadium Saturday to get their first look at the 2012 team. Hopes for the season are high, with just one week to go before the first pre-season game.

Panthers fans were also out in their tennis shoes and running gear at Bank of America Stadium.

While they were preparing to watch the Panthers later in the day, they were also getting their own workout in with a quick 5k to benefit Panthers charities.

During Fan Fest, fans have the opportunity to check out the newly renovated team store, purchase single or season tickets, watch routines by Sir Purr and the Top Cats and participate in a passing and kicking contest.

The big event of the day started at 4:00 p.m., when the Panthers took the field for practice, giving fans a chance to check them out prior to the start of the regular season.

The first preseason game is Saturday, August 11 at Bank of America Stadium, where the Carolina Panthers will be hosting the Houston Texans at 7:00 p.m.
