AURORA, Colo.--Court papers say the suspect in the Colorado movie theater shooting was being treated by a psychiatrist at the university where he was studying for a doctoral degree.
That information appears in a defense motion, and its related to news reports about a package James Homes sent the psychiatrist containing a notebook with descriptions of an attack.
The motion says the package contained communications that should be shielded from the public.
Holmes is accused of opening fire in a midnight showing of the Dark Knight Rises, killing 12 and injuring dozens of others.
He could be formally charged Monday.
