MOORESVILLE, N.C.--A deployment ceremony was held Saturday at Southside Baptist Church to send-off members of the 1131st and 1132nd Engineer Detachments of the N.C. National Guard to Djibouti.

The mission is a year-long cause to provide fresh and clean water to the Horn of Africa.

Team members say they represent the more humanitarian aspect of the military.

The 1132nd unit is embarking on its second mission to the Horn of Africa since completing a year-long deployment in 2007.

They will depart July 30, and the 1131st unit will depart July 29.
