CHARLOTTE – Two people are in the hospital Wednesday morning following an overnight tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 485 at I-77 north.

The tractor-trailer overturned around 12:30 a.m. after its load shifted. The two people inside were airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The highway was shut down for several hours.
