CHARLOTTE -- One person died in a multi-car crash on Interstate 85 in north Charlotte Friday. Emergency crews are on the scene along southbound 85 near Statesville Road.

A tractor-trailer was one of the vehicles involved in the crash. Officials with Medic tell us five other people were hurt. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Crews are detouring traffic around the Statesville Road exit.
