GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Wayne County sheriff's deputies pulled a Raleigh teenager's body from a beach Monday morning.

Deputies say witnesses saw three people struggling in the water at Busco Beach near Goldsboro just before 7 p.m. Sunday. Crews were able to rescue two swimmers, but 14-year-old Darnel Cooper went under.

The dive rescue team searched late into the night and found him in the morning.

At least two other people have drowned at Busco Beach since 2010. There is no lifeguard on duty in the area and swimmers are advised to swim at their own risk.
