GREENSBORO—On Monday, hundreds of thousands of people around the world could lose internet access.
Computers infected with malicious software will not be able to get online and users will have to call their service providers to fix the problem. However it is easy for people to make sure they are not one of them. All that is necessary is to run a Malware scan on a computer.
If that step is not taken, experts say matters could become worse.
"What a lot of people are going to find, that is if they still have this infection. The way viruses are is that you open up a door, then you let them in. Once they get in they'll open a bigger door for the next guy and as this progression gets larger and larger and your infection gets worse," said President of JSI Datacom Joe Joplin.
