WADESBORO, N.C. – Police are asking for help solving a homicide.

Sheri Evangelisti was found dead in an abandoned home on Klutz Street back in February.

There is currently a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in her murder. Officers went door to door in the neighborhood where the body was found asking residents for their help.

"We fully believe that there is someone here that knows more, and might be afraid to come forward because of the type of crime that we are talking about. But we are anxious to hear from them,” said Chief Janie Schutz, Wadesboro Police.

Chief Schutz added there are several people of interest her investigators have spoken with, but would not elaborate on whether the victim knew her attacker.
