CHARLOTTE -- Charlotte firefighters are investigating a suspicious fire in the University area. It broke out early Thursday morning in a vacant home on Mallard Crossing Drive.

Firefighters say they found a can of gasoline near the home. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they found a stolen car at the home.
