Security patrols outside Presbyterian Hospital after staff confirms a second woman is assaulted on or around property in less than 24 hours.
CHARLOTTE – For the second time in less than 24 hours, a woman was attacked on or around the Presbyterian Hospital campus near uptown Charlotte.
The second assault was reported Wednesday evening in a hospital parking garage after a nurse was stabbed earlier that morning in an adjacent hospital parking lot.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and the hospital confirm a female hospital employee was assaulted in the employee level stairwell of the hospital parking garage. The woman wasn't seriously hurt but the second attack within hours of each other has hospital staff on high alert.
Security officers say additional patrols are being more visible and cruising the lots to keep their eyes and ears on the area.
The hospital security have also put out informational sheets giving tips on how employees can stay safe.
Police said they are still looking for the suspects in both incidents.
