CONCORD -- The Cabarrus Humane Society is getting more help so they can help rescue more animals.
The shelter took over animal care from the county and Veolia Transportation donated a bus to help out.
"This is going to be a real boom to a relatively small humane society. It might help them expand their operations by having a mobile spay a neuter facility," said Michael Ake, Veolia Transportation.
They plan on taking out the seats, putting in kennels, and using it as a mobile vet lab.
“It makes a difference in how many live we can save how many animals we can pull this is a dream come true for us," said Executive Director Judy Sims.
The bus is valued at about $70,000. They said they hope to have it working by this fall.
