RALEIGH--State prosecutors say the SBI is refusing to release the results of failed certification tests by crime lab analysts.

According to The News & Observer , about two dozen analysts failed the test.

The SBI ordered the test two years ago to reassure the public after an auditor found hundreds of blood examinations were incorrectly reported.

SBI officials say the test results are private personnel records.
