RALEIGH--State Democratic party leaders are meeting in downtown Raleigh Saturday for their annual convention.
The convention kicks off with the 43rd Annual Jefferson-Jackson Breakfast at the Raleigh Convention Center.
The North Carolina Association of Teen Democrats are also holding their 50th Anniversary Convention Saturday morning.
Ohio State Senator Nina Turner will speak at the fundraising event.
Party leaders will also vote on electoral college appointments for the state and leadership positions for the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
The convention's main event will be the Jefferson-Jackson dinner. Joe Biden's son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, will be the keynote speaker at the dinner on Saturday night.
Gov. Bev Perdue and Sen. Kay Hagan will are serving as special guests at the dinner.
