CHARLOTTE -- We're just nine days away from Race Week at Charlotte Motor Speedway and track officials showed off the new attractions for this year's event Thursday morning.
"Every single race is a special vacation that our fans have saved up for, for months, planned for months and have looked forward to since the previous year's event," said Marcus Smith, General Manager for Charlotte Motor Speedway.
A new logo and plans we're unveiled at Charlotte Motor Speedway on what fans can expect.
"Charlotte is a place that they know when they come here they get more than ever," said Smith.
New this year, through donations, 5,000 active duty troops will enjoy the Coca Cola 600.
Infield campers will have hours of infield entertainment from the world's largest HDTV to appearances from Darius Rucker and Brooklyn Decker, among others. And it's the first time for fans to see NASCAR Sprint Cup rookie, Danica Patrick, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
With ticket sales expected to top last year's, it's looking to be one of the biggest years yet.
Race week kicks off next week with the All Star Race on the May 19.
