GREENSBORO (AP) -- Prosecutors have indicated that they'll wrap up their case against John Edwards without calling the former presidential candidate's mistress to the stand.

They told a judge that they plan to finish presenting their case on Thursday. Rielle Hunter was not among the witnesses that they said they planned to call to the stand.

The mistress was also listed by the defense as a potential witness at the start of the trial. Edwards' lawyers could call her to the stand after the prosecution is done presenting its case.

Edwards has pleaded not guilty to six counts of campaign finance violations related to about $1 million in secret payments, much of which was used to cover up the affair.
