CHARLOTTE -- The bridges along Interstate 77 in Mecklenburg County will soon get a facelift. The North Carolina Department of Transportation is investing $5 million to improve 14 bridges from the Nations Ford Road bridge at exit 4 to the Highway 73 bridges at exit 25.

The work is expected to extend the life of the bridges. It's expected to begin in June and be completed by Aug. 31.
