CHARLOTTE--A police chase ended with an uptown crash after an apparent car-jacking in southwest Charlotte Friday evening.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say three teenage girls approached a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu on Farmhurst Drive and stole the car at gunpoint shortly after 7:30 p.m. A State Trooper spotted the car on Interstate-77 North near Clanton Road, where the chase began after the suspects sped away from the Trooper's blue lights.
Authorities say the suspects hit two other cars during the chase. The pursuit ended at the Transit Center uptown near Trade Street and Brevard Street when they crashed the car.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested two teenage girls while a third fled on foot and remains at-large.
The suspects' names have not been released. Authorities say no one was injured in the incident.
