CHARLOTTE – In the wake of two pedestrian crashes – one of them deadly – the Charlotte Department of Transportation will install new signs at an uptown intersection next week.

The signs will warn drivers turning at College and Stonewall to yield to pedestrians.

C-DOT began looking into the intersection's design and crash data after 47-year-old Brett Morgan was hit and killed Jan. 10.

The next day, another pedestrian was injured at the same intersection. Drivers in both crashes were cited for failing to yield right of way.

C-DOT officials say they'll consider other changes, including ways slow drivers turning from East Stonewall onto South College.
