Unemployment rates drop in most counties but state's rate remains at 9.5 percent
RALEIGH -- Unemployment rates decreased in the most of North Carolina’s counties in November. Rates decreased in 74 counties, increased in 20 and remained the same in six.
Thirty nine counties were at or below the state’s unchanged unemployment rate of 9.5 percent. Orange County had the state’s lowest unemployment rate at 5.8 percent while Scotland County had the highest unemployment rate at 16.6 percent.
