East Charlotte DWI checkpoint nets 13 arrests overnight

CHARLOTTE – Officers arrested 13 people during an overnight checkpoint in east Charlotte.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Matthews police officers set up the checkpoint along Idlewild and Cedarwild roads. The roundup is a part of the Booze it and Lose it campaign, which lasts through Jan. 2.
In all, authorities filed 62 charges including seven for DWI and two for driving drunk under age. They cited five people for driving with a revoked license and one for driving without a license.
They also handed out tickets for minor traffic violations.
