CHARLOTTE — A former Carolina Panther is joining the fight against hunger.

Muhsin Muhammad is partnering with Kraft Foods for the Huddle to Fight Hunger campaign. Muhammad helped deliver donations of Kraft products to the Second Harvest Food bank on Wednesday.

People can help by logging on to Facebook and clicking Like on the Kraft Fight Hunger page. For every Like, one meal will be donated to Feeding America food banks.

The goal is to donate 25 million meals this year.

"I think there is a misconception. People think of these commercials where you see kids starving. No, these are families that are right next door. These families are right on American soil, and there is something that we can do about it. I would encourage everyone to get involved in this campaign," said Muhammad.

According to Feeding America, one in four children in North Carolina do not know where their next meal will come from.
