Police identify woman struck and killed while crossing Fayetteville street

FAYETTEVILLE – Authorities have identified the woman killed Thursday morning while crossing a street in Fayetteville as 53-year-old Shirley Schultz.
Officers say an SUV driven by 30-year-old Matthew Nobles drifted off Stoney Point Road near the Dundle Road intersection and struck Schultz.
Nobles was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Shultz died from the impact.
There is no word on any charges at this time.
