NC landfills to stop accepting discarded electronics

RALEIGH — In a little more than a week, North Carolina landfills will no longer be able to take discarded computer equipment and televisions.

The ban goes into effect July 1. The ban includes:

• CPU's
• Laptops
• Keyboards
• Printers
• Printer/fax/scanner devices
• Monitors
• All types of televisions

In Mecklenburg County, solid waste services will collect electronics for recycling. To schedule a bulky item for collection, call 311.
