CHARLOTTE -- The final piece of the plane that made a historic landing in the Hudson River two years ago is making its way to the Queen City Friday. The fuselage from Flight 1549 is on the last leg of its journey to Carolinas Aviation Museum in Charlotte.

It arrived in Surry County, about 90 miles north of Charlotte, Thursday. It left New Jersey last weekend, but the trip really started two years ago after the plane, splash landed in New York's Hudson River. One hundred and fifty five people were on board at the time and amazingly all survived, including passenger Ben Bostic.

You would think he's had enough of the plane to last him a lifetime, but he's actually accompanying the plane.

"I just thought it was a great opportunity to see something that's really dear to me because for me, I mean, she represents like a huge piece of why we were able to survive," said Bostic.

The fuselage left Mount Airy Friday morning, and is expected to arrive at the museum by 12 p.m. where two sections of the tail arrived last week. Then, U.S. Airways mechanics will reassemble it and put it on permanent display.
